Today
was the 5K limit holdem, 114 entries (I
think) down from 161 last year, based
on my recent math lobotomy I won't try
to figure out what that is percentage
wise, but it's a lot. I would have loved
to have played this event (especially
since I've had a very good run in limit
holdem satellites recently), but $5,000
is way out of my league. Instead I have
a side bet that will be making me $20
richer as soon as Humberto Brenes and
Alan Cunningham place in the top two,
coincidentally they are the two chip leaders
at the final table. Jennifer Harmon is
also at the final table.
I
checked the 10K sign up board today, there
are 137 entries so far, about 100 of them
from super satellites. Very few big names
have signed up yet, I imagine most people
are waiting to see if they can qualify
in a super sat before plunking down the
money. One player has won six seats (he
gets the cash after the first one) and
placed in the money in four more in the
super sats!!!
Friday
afternoon I got a call to run downstairs
as there was a problem with the clock
at the final table. I got there and found
out that apparently the PC had mysteriously
rebooted itself. I had no idea what had
happened until someone told me it happened
to coincide with a dealer tossing her
bag under a table. It turned out that
her bag hit a trash can, the trash can
tipped over and got a perfect hit on the
reset button on the PC causing a reboot.
Mark "I might not know how to work a comp
but I do know how to work a computer"
Napolitano did a fine job of getting it
up and running again.
