World
Poker Open - Day 4
Today
was crunch time. No other tournament during
the World Poker Open will have the sheer
numbers we had today. In case one wonders
what is the most popular form of poker
that tournament enthusiasts prefer, it
is without question limit holdem. Today
we drew 463 participants each paying $540.
The 45 tables upstairs and 2 tables downstairs
in our regular poker room kept the staff
extremely focused. In fact I'm sure that
almost everyone was soaking their feet
in Epsom Salts or going for a foot massage
this evening. That is those who aren't
working overtime.
Tho
I'm not sure the final table, to be concluded
tomorrow at 4 pm, has been reached at
the time of this report, I am sure the
eventual winner will receive $83,085.
Not too shabby.
Today's
conclusion of yesterday's Omaha Pot Limit
with rebuys started at 4 pm. The winner
was Jeremy Tinsley of Beaumont Texas who
pocketed a cool $60,528.
Yesterday
Terry Vanderlip held 51 single table satellites
on her shift only to be outdone by Mark
Whetstone's 54 on swing.
On
the board we have 29 people who have either
won a satellite or paid the $10,000 for
our final event, the No Limit Holdem starting
on Wednesday Jan 23 and progressing through
Saturday Jan 26. Still plenty of time
left in case you're thinking about coming.
That's it for now. Thanks for listening.
Now where the heck did I put that extra
carton of Epsom Salts...
