World
Poker Open - Day 3
Upon
walking into the upstairs poker area,
which is comprised of three convention
rooms with the walls pulled out, and seeing
the massive throng of staff, players and
onlookers all scurring about laughing,
talking, meeting up with old friends,
an overwhelming warm fuzzy feeling surrounded
me. Is this the best it's ever been? I
pondered that question some. After all
I have dealt or been a part of numerous
major poker tournaments, dealt the final
hand that determined a world champion
and worked last year's WPO as the swing
shift supervisor. Then the answer came.
Yes this is the best. Wish you were here
to share it.
The
tournament today was the $540 Pot Limit
Omaha with rebuys. Tho we didn't break
last years mark coming up a few entries
short, we still had 141 entries with 172
rebuys. But check this out, at the same
time in the live action area there were
5 Pot Limit Omaha games going that were
so good the players didn't want to leave
it to play the tournament. We could have
easily broken the record if our side games
just weren't that good. Wow.
I
had a player, who was gorging himself
at our poker players buffet, tell me today
that he'd been to poker tournaments around
the world, and bar none this was the best.
The treatment, the action, the food, all
made the World Poker Open the best. What
are you waiting for? There's still plenty
of time left. Come on down and be a part
of the best poker tournament the world
has ever seen.
Tomorrow
will be the highest number of entries
we will see during our tournament. It
is the $540 Limit Holdem. I drool at the
thought of playing this one. I almost
wish I wasn't working it, almost.
