Casino
Information
When
casinos request it, we will furnish this
program to them free of charge if they
want to use it for their tournaments &
advertise it as explained below. If they
want us to come and install the program
in their computer (97 Microsoft Excel
or later required) and teach someone how
to use it, all we ask is that they pay
our trip expenses. We would install Tex's
TEARS on a laptop computer and teach someone
how to use it if they travel to where
one of us is located.
This
program is an Excel Spreadsheet and it
is complicated. In order for a casino
to get all the benefits from this system
one of us should teach and explain it
to whoever is going to use it. We have
great reservations about providing the
program to anyone without teaching him/her
how to use it best.
After
the correct criteria is entered for an
event, this program predicts the total
playing time and the number of players
that you should have (left in the tournament)
to start any level with. It also tells
you the proper number of starting, re-buy
chips, and the proper blind and ante structures.
"Tex's
TEARS" provides blind and ante increases
that average less than 50% per level along
with adequate starting chips for all buy-ins
of $100 or larger (please advertise these
as "Tex's TEARS Structures"). The system
also provides a "Tex's TEARS Satellite
Structure" for satellites and shorter
weekly or daily events (please advertise
these as "Tex's TEARS Satellite Structures").
The
casino controls the number of player chips
if the buy-in is less than $100 for their
smaller tournaments. The casino always
controls the total length of the tournament
by adjusting the time per level until
they get the total playing time desired.
No levels should ever be less than 15
minutes to allow the button to make one
full round of the table. The only adjustment
that is ever needed is to change the length
of levels and you should be able to achieve
your goal of having a great tournament.
"Tex's
TEARS" is one Excel workbook. Just click
on a tab at the bottom of the workbook
to access: "Tex's TEARS", "Structure Sheets",
and "User Manual".
We
are trying to give the tournament director
a full box of tools to help him do his
job efficiently & still easily control
the length of the event. We are also trying
to standardize the starting chips and
structures so that a player can travel
to any casino advertising "Tex's TEARS
Structures" and know exactly what to expect.
The
program, teaching, and installation work
are free to casinos & tournament directors
that have credentials.
Since
June 1, 2000 we have installed our "Tex's
TEARS" program at 39 major casinos around
the world. The Reno Hilton is using "Tex's
TEARS Structures" for all of their tournaments
including the WORLD POKER CHALLENGE. The
2001 World Series of Poker used our program.
The "2001 Tournament of Champions" also
used "Tex's TEARS".
TEARS
means "Tournament Evaluation and Rating
System". We expect other casinos to adopt
this system as soon as the players, that
have tried it, tell them how smooth "Tex's
TEARS" is and how pleasant it is to play
in. We are getting about 99% player approval
of "Tex's TEARS".
