his way through a field
of 93 entries to emerge
as the Seven Card Hi-Lo
Split champion in Event
#4 of the Bellagio Five
Diamond World Poker Classic
at the Bellagio Hotel &
Casino in Las Vegas.
Once the final table had
been trimmed to four players,
Brown overcame strong play
from three Las Vegans to
take first prize money of
$36,084. Runner-up Hossein
Shahrezay entered the final
table as the chip leader,
but when it go down to the
final four, it was eventual
fourth place finisher Ron
McMillan who had the chip
lead. David Rabbi finished
third. McMillan, who owns
several McDonald�s franchises,
lost his momentum to Brown
when Brown won three straight
�scoops� against McMillan.
Amir
Vahedi of Sherman Oaks,
CA, finished fifth while
1998 WSOP champion Scott
Nguyen got sixth, followed
by Shin Oshima of Tokyo,
Japan, in seventh and Paulette
McCulley of Laguna Hills,
CA, getting the last paid
spot at eighth.
Total
prize money was $90,210
for the $1,000 buy-in event.
