TUAN LE TAKES THE CROWN!
Hutter Second and Brenes Third

Youth was served in this years $10,000 No-Limit Holdem Championship WPT event of the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Tuan Le, the 26 year old resident of Los Angeles, CA, was able overcome the challenges of 674 fellow competitors and walk away with the first place prize of $1,549,588 which includes a $25,000 seat in the WPT Championship event in Las Vegas.

Tuan and second place finisher, Temp Hutter of Charlottesville, VA, entered heads up action with virtually identical chip counts. Temp had earlier relegated Humberto Brenes of San Jose, Costa Rica, to third by virtue of catching a club flush on the river to overcome a pair of 5s. Tuan had done much of the work on the table by eliminating David Pham, J C Tran and Bradley Berman in succession. David, the Cerritos, CA, native, was the short stack entering the day. He put up an A9 against Tuans A4 but Tuan saw a 4 on the flop to leave David in 6th. J C, of Sacramento, CA, took home 6th place when his 3s could not catch up with Tuans 6s. Bradley, from Minnetonka, MN, went all-in with Ks versus Tuans AK and was the unlucky loser when Tuan caught an A on the river.

Heads up action began with the blinds at 40000/80000. Tuan won an early pot with two pair to Temps Q high. With the blinds at 50000/100000, Temp was judiciously able to build his chip count back to a respectable number. Several no calls of his all-ins left him in with a better than two to one chip advantage when the blinds rose to 80000/160000. One hand turned the tide in Tuans favor. After a flop of 489, Temp bet $800,000, Tuan called and went all-in with 78; Temp called with K9. His top pair seemed like a winner; but a 7 on the turn and no help on the river gave the $5 million plus pot to Tuan and left him with a short stack. A few hands later, Temp was all-in with A5 after a 938 flop. Tuan had an open-ended straight draw with a 67 and he called. Temp, with the Ad and two ds on the flop was hoping for the flush, an A or anything but a 5 or 10. It was not to be as a 10s appeared on the turn giving the victory to Tuan Le. The $973,256 second place money eased the pain somewhat for Temp.

Foxwoods Resort Casino would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this years event possible; especially the competitors in all the events leading up to and including the Championship. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!
