World Poker Tour® Returns to Canada for the WPT® Fallsview Poker Classic
CAD $5,000 Event Takes the Tour to Beautiful Niagara Falls in February 2014
Los Angeles, CA (December 10, 2013) - World Poker Tour® is expanding its already substantial Season XII schedule with the addition of the exciting new WPT® Fallsview Poker Classic in February 2014.
Following on the success of its recent events in Montreal, WPT is giving Canadian players another opportunity to compete for the chance to have their name etched onto the prestigious WPT Champions Cup at the CAD $5,000 WPT Fallsview Poker Classic Main Event running from February 22-24. Held at the beautiful Fallsview Casino Resort, just an hour outside Toronto, this single-entry, three-day event is sure to fill up fast.
"Poker is more popular than ever in Canada, and our players have been asking us to add another WPT stop north of the border," said WPT President Adam Pliska. "We're thrilled to accommodate them by adding this great new event to the tour, and we look forward to another fantastic event on Canadian soil."
The Main Event caps a week-long, three-event series beginning February 18 that includes a both a CAD $1,100 and a CAD $2,500 tournament. Players may buy directly into each event or qualify through satellites starting as early as December 9, and super satellites starting in February. "The return of the WPT is exciting news for all talented and notable poker enthusiasts," said Greg Medulun, Director of Communications with Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara. "Our casino is well-suited to host what will be a definite sold-out event given the added excitement WPT brings."
