Bad Beats

Ok.
This chapter is HUGE in you're quest to
make money at online hold 'em. I'm not
going to give you bad beat stories or
tell you that they happen to everyone
because we already know that. Bad beats
are kind of like the weather, everyone
talks about it but no one can change it.
I'm now going to teach you secrets to
preventing bad beats and the mental edge
to get over it when a sucker takes your
money on a BB (bad beat).
Preventing
bad beats is a huge part in playing good
poker. I will now tell you the number
one problem with most online poker players�
Slow
playing (Getting a really good
hand such as trips, 2- pair or a high
pair with good kicker). You know what
I'm talking about here. We've all gotten
trips and said to ourselves, "Man, I ought
to slow play this hand so I can make more
money off this sucker."
This
is a recipe for bad beats. Take it from
me. The reward isn't just worth the risk
involved. In a cash game, you could lose
10% of you're bankroll from slow playing.
I've done it and I'm sure you will do
it sometime soon. The key here is, LEARN
FROM IT.
Listen
close.
The
only hands you want to slow play are full
houses, good high card flushes, 4 of a
kind, and maybe a straight. That's it.
Push trips, 2- pair, and high pairs hard
and I guarantee that you're bad beats
will lessen by 50%.
Now
we'll talk about how to cope with them.
After a bad beat if you are mad, please
stop playing for about 5 minutes. Bad
beats suck and they will put most people
on tilt if it's for a large sum of money.
Here's a good tip. Walk away from the
computer or table. Just get up and walk
away and remember that money isn't always
the most important thing in you're life.
This logic will help to put you back on
you're game. Use this logic to put you
back into you're A Game. Here's what you
should say to help you overcome the situation�
"I
just took this horrible beat, but my wife
and kids are far more important than this
money will ever be."
Or�
"After
taking this bad beat, I need to remember
what matters most, God."
Or
even�
"After
taking this bad beat, I need to think
about the people who are starving and
dying in countries around the world."
This
might sound ridiculous but it is a proven
way to convince your mind that you're
over the beat. Use logic and reasoning
and please, speak the truth to yourself
so you can get over the bad beat. I guarantee
you that if you think of poker like this,
more people will respect you for not showing
how immature you are, and you're poker
game will soar to new heights. Now for
the real secret to taking bad beats. This
secret might shock you. Many players may
know this secret but most will never know
how important this is. This secret put

Say
you're bankroll is 400 bucks. You buy
in to a no limit table for 200 bucks.
You take a bad beat. You go on tilt. You're
saying, "Why am I on tilt! I used the

on tilt. Half of you're money is now gone.
